“But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:” Matthew 6:20
Saving up for "rainy days" and investing a portion of money seems to be a prudent concept understood by all. Almost every child is given some form of a coin bank at some point of time in their lives. We all want to find the best way to safe keep and even "grow" our money. Nobody will put their money is a bag full of holes or a bank that will easily be robbed.
But how are we investing in our souls? Are we so busy laying up treasures on earth that we forget the Heavenly treasures? Heaven, the dwelling place of God, is "where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal" Matthew 6:20. All the "heavenly investments" that we make now will surely yield good returns. The first step in heavenly investment is to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Then, to turn our eyes always from earthly treasures and bank in heavenly treasures through serving the Lord.
May the cloud shape of this coin bank also cause you to look upwards, and be reminded that the true treasure of life is only found in the hands of the Heavenly Father.
